Can you cut the string in two without making the cup fall?

Tie the string to the handle of the cup as shown and let someone hold the upper end of the string. Then state that you are going to cut the string in two and that because of your magic powers the cup will not fall.
This one is simple. Make a large loop in the string and knot it. Then snip the string in the loop, as shown, and announce, "It is cut and the cup is still hanging!"
Materials: A cup, a piece of heavy string and a pair of scissors.
