Would you like to astound your friends with a neat balancing trick?
This trick looks difficult to onlookers because they see it from the front and believe you are doing an extraordinary feat of balancing. It is a good trick to do between other tricks, since it can be done on the spur of the moment.

Place the plate in the right hand with the fingers holding the rim in front toward your audience, and with your thumb in back of the plate, extended upward. Be sure the thumb is not above the edge of the plate, or it will be seen by your friends. Now set the glass carefully on the edge of the plate and support it with your thumb, as shown.
